Moving to One Model

Autodesk's move to subscription business model

Autodesk is making it easier for customers to move from maintenance (your traditional yearly fee) to subscription (term-based model). At renewal, you can choose to move to subscription for the same cost as your maintenance plan renewal – or switch to an industry collection at the same price.

Subscribing provides the best way for you to get value from the Autodesk tools and technologies. Autodesk will continue to work on providing great value with the following benefits:

  • Latest and greatest product capabilities – Get access to Autodesk’s ongoing stream of innovation, updates to core products, cloud services for desktop products, and additional capabilities as soon as they are available, at no additional cost*.
  • Access to new industry collections – Available only through subscription, you’ll realize significant savings when you need two or more Autodesk software products.
  • New and improved support – Enjoy faster response times and the option to receive help by scheduling a call with Autodesk technical support specialists.
  • Simplified administration – Access tools that streamline deployment and software management when you standardize all of your Autodesk products on subscription.

*Autodesk has announced that on September 7, 2017, the AEC Collection will include 7 new applications at no additional cost.

What are my options when my current maintenance plan renews?

  • Maintain status quo. Renew your maintenance plan for one year. Maintenance plan renewal pricing will increase annually over the next two years.
  • Switch your current product on maintenance to the current version of that product on subscription.
  • Get more by switching your individual product or suite on maintenance to an industry collection subscription.

Maintenance price increases have been announced for 2018 and 2019. Switch to Subscription pricing is locked in at the current price for 3 years. Prices are based on US dollars. Currency fluctuations may effect Canadian pricing.

Do you use more than one Autodesk product? Subscribe to an industry collection

The value of the collections is through their added capabilities. If you are moving from a Suite to an Industry Collection, there are significant added benefits with access to products like:

  • Navisworks Manage – The full capabilities of Manage can be leveraged through the Suite – clash detection, scheduling, simulation and more.
  • Infraworks – See how Infraworks will help integrate site data into your project.
  • FormIt – Create schematic design information and bring it seamlessly into Revit.
  • Insight 360 – Bring FormIt or Revit models into Insight integrating lighting analysis, solar analysis, and energy analysis.
  • As of September 7, 2017, the AEC collection will include 7 additional applications like Revit Live, Dynamo Studio, and Robot Structural Analysis.
